Is there a thing called Psychology!
The word ‘psychology’ really fucks me up. In my days, the word psychology would seldom if ever escape lips of a person, these days everyone runs off at mouth about it. There’s been rush on schools teaching the trick of the mental trade like psycho-counseling, psycho-therapy, clinical counseling, CBT and all that jazz. Boys and girls moving mountains to get admission in schools of psychology think they are betting on right pony. Perhaps, they have put it into their head that the world soon goanna be mad, and those hiding tricks of psychology in head would be needed to repair it. This abstract ‘idea’ or ‘a thing’ or ‘airy nothing’ called ‘psychology’ wasn’t that big not long ago as it is now. Quite intriguing, how it came this BIG to become a hot commodity adding lots of selling point on it! They perhaps think something catastrophic goanna hit the up top of people of the world, and, they would have to go to a PSYCHOLOGIST who would tight the loose screw. What a fucking joke!
To someone like me who fucks off the way of bringing back memory-deposited knowledge into ‘thinking’, butchering cool head, is forced to rack brain to get it about how this ‘tool’ or ‘technique’ given in schools of ‘psychology’ can help cope with a problem whose mother is THINKING, and that goanna run through the person’s head from cradle to grave, non-stop! But, before we take a look at the skill, tool, or technique they provide to aspiring psychologists, I want to get to the point what exactly is ‘psychology’ or, more precisely, can there be a thing called ‘psychology’, or is it just another downright rubbish, invented by a loony mind meant to put the derailed train of thoughts back on track and thus restore the order or replace the old order with a new one! I haven’t come across or heard about a psychologist questioning why the hell they need an ORDER in the first place nor do I expect one to question, for the fact that they haven’t been taught about it by their Gurus nor can it ever be taught. They play by the rule of the game as though all gone wrong on top are prisoners serving sentences wearing one-size-all straitjacket and they know where to find the holes and stitch them.
Those that bang the drum for what they call psychological healing or restoring order through psychotherapy assume that the THING we’ve been told to recognize as humans are ‘run’ or ‘driven’ by a tricky device called ‘human psychology’. In other words, their thoughts work along the lines that a micro-chip called ‘psychology’ is planted in people’s head, and since it has started malfunctioning, they can put it in order through psycho-therapy. Well, the fragile order or a chip in head is created, no denying that, but the ORDER is never a device whose remote control is on the hand of the THING called human but rather the ORDER takes over and rules the THING. That is how it works.
There is no correlation whatsoever between ‘I’ created out of human invented knowledge and the THING that operates from outside the knowledge the THING is made to live by. The THING reigns supreme and takes no order from anyone no matter what knowledge-base the ‘I’ operate from and no matter how hard the ‘I’ try to rein and shackle it. The stacks of books on psychology put together have no power to know how a person would behave and act in the next unfolding moment, nor can it ever know what forces outside human imagination and thinking come into play or interplay or interact to drive the THING into acting and behaving the way it does. Since the THING called human is not manufactured in a human-built factory called psychology, so is it that it will not operate within its bounds of dos and don’ts. As with those few who have somehow, accidently or otherwise, catapulted to living the THING that it is, freeing oneself of all acquired knowledge, to them, psychology is utter nonsense, a thing they laugh at. To those that live by the human invented knowledge that tells them what they are and that works at erecting the pedestal they are perched on and only ‘death’ can knock them off, psychology may have some room to play although I doubt it can play it right.
Psychology work on assumptions that human behaviors and actions are foreseeable and predictable coz they carry a frame of mind or an order in head, one can access content of their consciousness, they operate from set thought-pattern, set of behaviors, and claims to have somewhat correct measure of knowledge, factors, and forces influencing their thought process. From where I see it, a psychologist is like a blind man painting a picture of an elephant by running his hand across its tail. It may be possible with the help of technology to monitor, track down and maintain a databank of all knowledge and source as well as route and channel of knowledge a person acquire from the day one is born, and yet, they would still remain far from anywhere knowing it why and how a certain person behaved and acted on the other side of coin. The composite of human mind, to me, is not limited to knowledge, thought, and consciousness. It runs unimaginably far beyond that. They could be the constituent playing part contriving him to do a thing and behave in a certain way or they may completely depart from forces actually making it happen the way it happens. To me, it is kind of kaleidoscopic or rapidly changing state that gets created where catalytic forces both known and unknown to human knowledge come into play, play their part, and disappear.
Those that are nothing but a bunch of knowledge stuffed into the thing they call ‘I’ and live by swimming around safe waters of knowledge, if and when, accidently or otherwise swim away from safe waters, find it hard to swim back to the safety of the same safe water that they until yesterday swam around. Many sink, few swim to ‘nowhere’ to find ‘somewhere’ within the ‘uncertain’, ‘uncanny’ and ‘dreadful’ nowhere. Wonder a psychologist can help people in any way to show them ‘somewhere’ in the infinite, uncertain and dreadful ‘nowhere’!
I conclude that the ORDER cannot be mended nor can it be replaced. It is like bearding the lion in its den. They have to find an order within the order-less-ness or go order-less and secure a place right here with a show of fortitude.
